Anesthesia Visit Concurrency and Workflow

Concurrency is when an anesthesiologist is medically directing or supervising the work of one or more anesthesia professionals.

Anesthesia Profile

If there are Payers that require a different Anesthesia Timed Units Profile, create the new Profile and attach it to that specific Payer in the Insurance Library or Anesthesia Time Unit Settings.

Insurance Library

LibrariesInsurances > select a specific Payer.

  • Select the Anesthesia Profile in the Insurance Library for a specific Insurance.
  • Libraries > Insurances > Select Insurance ID > Insurance Settings Panel
  • The Profiles will be available in the dropdown menu after the Anesthesia functionality is activated and the Anesthesia Time Unit Profiles have been created.
  • If you manage multiple Databases with an Insurance Master Library that is connected to both Anesthesia and non-Anesthesia Linked Databases,  you will not see the Anesthesia Profile dropdown in the non-Anesthesia Databases.
  • You will only see this in Databases where Anesthesia functionality has been activated.

  • Select the Modify icon in the Insurances Column to add, edit, or remove an Insurance in each Description group.
  • If you add a payer to a different Description group, it will be removed from the prior group it was attached to.
  • This has the same result as changing the selection on the Payer.

ASA (Anesthesia) CROSSWALK

When adding a Charge using the Anesthesia Crosswalk®, the Surgery Procedure Code is entered, and the System determines automatically the corresponding Anesthesia Code. Set up the Anesthesia Crosswalk® manually or have it uploaded and managed automatically.
