Encounter Notes can be added on the Encounter Dashboard in the Notes Panel.
Types of Notes
- Alert: An alert displays as a pop-up on the selected screen that must be closed to proceed.
- Billing Note: A Billing Note displays in the Note Panel on the Patient and/or the Encounter Dashboard.
- Contact Log: Use the Contact Log option for communication with Patients. The note only displays in the Note panel on the Patient Dashboard.
- Header Message: The Header Message displays in red font at the top left of the selected screen.
- Task Note: Information about a Task that the Encounter is associated with.
- Task Notes cannot be added from the Notes panel on the Encounter Dashboard (view only).
Add a Note
Select Add in the Notes Panel, or select Notes and then select Add.
Add a Billing Note
Billing Notes can be added on the Patient Dashboard and Encounter Dashboard.
- These notes display in the Notes Panel and can be edited there.
- If Patient Dashboard and Encounter Dashboard are selected, the note will display on the Patient Dashboard and on the selected Encounter.
Add an Alert
- Scenario: Patient Dashboard and Encounter Dashboard are both selected in the Alert Information Panel:
- If adding the Alert from the Encounter Dashboard, the note will appear on the Patient Dashboard and this Encounter only.
- If the Alert is added from the Patient Dashboard, the note will appear on the Patient Dashboard and all Encounters.
Header Messages can be added on the Encounter and Patient Dashboards.
The same scenario for the Alert Message applies to the Header message as well.
Header Message entered on the Encounter Dashboard
- If the Header Message is entered on the Encounter Dashboard, and the Patient and Encounter Dashboard are selected in the Alert Information panel, the Header will appear in red on the top left on the Patient Dashboard and on this Encounter Only.
View Task Notes
- Select the Include Task Notes checkbox to view all Task Notes associated with the Encounter.
- The Task and Status columns appear when Include Task Notes is selected.
