Reporting FAQs
What is the difference between Contains and Includes when Filtering?
- Contains: Looks at any part of the value.
- Example: A Patient has the last name Shoemaker.
- The Last Name Contains = "Shoe" Filter will pull the Patient last name Shoemaker since "Shoe" is included in "Shoemaker".
- Includes: Looks at the whole value.
- Example: A Patient has the last name Shoemaker.
- The Last Name Includes = "Shoe" Filter will not pull the Patient last name Shoemaker.
- The Last Name Includes = "Shoemaker" Filter will pull the Patient last name Shoemaker since the entire value is included in the Filter value.

- Method 1: Use the Filter Encounter - CPT List as many times as needed for each Procedure Code.
- Use "Contains" instead of Equals or Includes.
