Patient Appointment Panel on the Patient Dashboard

Patient Appointment Panel

The Patient Appointment Panel, by default, only shows a few Appointments.

  • To see all Appointments that have been scheduled for a Patient, select the Plus symbol (+).
  • Once the Panel is expanded, the Appointments are listed in chronological order from newest to oldest.


  1. Schedule: Opens the Calendar to view or schedule an Appointment. For further information see Add an Appointment.
  2. Recalls: Add a Patient to a Recall list or view the Recall list where this Patient has already been added. For further information see Recalls.

  1. Select the Modify icon to display the Patient's Appointment screen, where you have access to the same options as when an Appointment is selected on the Calendar.
  2. Select the Date of the Appointment to navigate to the Appointment on the Calendar.
  • The Appointment will be blinking to locate it easily.

  1. Tasks: Select the Add link in the Task Column to add to an Appointment Worklist.

  1. Send | Notification (4.10 Only): Provides a Send Notification link if no Notification has been sent for the Appointment, or lists the time status of the attempt. *Appointment Update Reminders are a Premium Add-On Product.
  • Send: Opens the Send Notification popup, allowing you to send a new or existing Appointment Reminder.
  • Yellow Calendar (): Notifications are scheduled to be sent for this Appointment. Hover over the icon for details.
  • Green Check (): All Notifications were sent successfully for the Appointment. Hover over the icon for details.
  • Yellow Exclamation Point (): At least one Notification failed, but one or more succeeded. Hover over the icon for details.
  • Red X (): All Notifications failed. Hover over the icon for details.


Patient Appointments Panel Informational Columns

  1. Time: Time of the Appointment
  2. When: How many days the Appointment was in the past or the number of days in the future.
  • Appointment is today: Today will display.
  • Appointment is tomorrow: Tomorrow will display.
  1. Resource: Scheduled Appointment for Provider, Room, or Equipment
  2. Facility: Where the Patient is scheduled/seen.
  3. Type: Kind of Appointment, such as, Office Visit, Follow-up, New Patient, etc.
  4. Reason: Why the Patient is being seen.
  • This field is optional and may be blank if a reason was not entered on the Appointment.
  1. Note: Notes entered on the Appointment.
  • This field is optional and may be blank if a Note was not entered on the Appointment.
  1. Status: Status of the Appointment, such as Scheduled, Confirmed, No Show, Canceled, etc.

Add an Appointment from Patient Dashboard

  1. Select the Schedule link.

  1. The DateTimeFacility, and Resource default from the Appointment Slot selected on the Calendar.
  • The Facility and Resource can be changed.
  1. The Patient ID defaults from the Patient Dashboard.
  2. Select the Type, which populates the Duration but can be changed on-the-fly.
  3. Enter other pertinent information.
  4. Select Save [F2].
  5. Detach from the Patient before making the next Appointment.
  • Detach by selecting the Red X on the Title Bar.
