Create Slot Types

Slots are defined by types of appointments and how many (max concurrency) can be scheduled in a specific slot.


Create Scheduling Slot Types

  1. On the Scheduling Setup screen, select the Slots tab.
  2. Select Add.

  1. Type Code: The Type Code displays in the Appointment Slot column on the Calendar.
  2. Description: Enter a description for the Slot.
  3. Background Color and Text Color: Color displays on the left side of the Calendar where the Slot ID is located.
  • If a dark Background Color is selected, choose a light Text Color so it is easy to read.
  • After you save, the Color Column will reflect the display on the Calendar.
  1. Maximum Concurrent Appointments: Enter the maximum number of appointments that can be booked in this slot.
  • Once the Maximum Concurrent Appointment number is reached, you will get a warning when attempting to add an Appointment in the Slot.
  • Being able to Overbook is dependent upon your permissions.
  • Concurrency can be overridden per Appointment Type using the option in the Concurrent Appointments panel.
  1. Enter Effective/Expiration date if applicable. New Schedule Builds cannot be created if the effective date range of the Build includes Slot Types that are no longer active (expired).
  2. Enable Direct Scheduling: Stay tuned! This feature is Coming Soon.

  1. Uncheck All Appointment Types to view all Appointment Types and to limit the Appointments that can be booked in this slot.
  2. Use Uncheck to clear the existing checkmarks, if applicable.
  3. Select the Appointments Types that can be booked in this Slot.
  4. Concurrency Appointments: The number of Concurrent Appointments can be overridden here. See: Max Concurrent Rules for Multiple Appointment Types in One Slot.
  5. Select Save [F2].
