When printing a Claim on a HCFA or UB Form, the Print Alignment will need to be adjusted for a shared office printer or your personal printer.
Load your HCFA or UB in the printer.
Go to a Patient's Encounter Dashboard.
Select the Print Claim button.
Use Form: Choose HCFA or UB.
Select Run.
Print the HCFA or UB that was created above.
Select the Printer icon.
Choose a printer.
Go to Preferences or More Settings (Your printer may have different wording).
Page Scaling or Scale: Set to Default, None or Actual Size. Make sure it is not set to Fit to Page.
Select the checkbox for Choose paper source by PDF page size if this is an option.
Advanced Options: Print As Image or Print as PDF needs to be ON.
If there is an option to Print to File, it needs to be unchecked.
If you are using a shared office printer, the settings are found in System Settings. (Admin > System Settings > General).
For HCFA Alignment use: (Outlined in red in the figure below.)
XOFFSET: This is the HORIZONTAL ALIGNMENT (left/right).
YOFFSET: This is the VERTICAL ALIGNMENT (up/down).
For UB04 Alignment use: (Outlined in blue in the figure below).
XOFFSETU: This is the HORIZONTAL ALIGNMENT (left/right).
YOFFSETU: This is the VERTICAL ALIGNMENT (up/down).
Use small increments to move the form left or right and up or down. Negative numbers can be used. See below.
To move the data to the Right, enter a positive number or a number greater than the number already in the box.
To move the data to the Left, enter a negative number or a number smaller than the number already in the box.
There are some printers that are opposite. A positive number moves the data to the left and a negative number moves it to the right. The larger the number in the alignment fields, the further the data will move on the printed document. Start with very small numbers, such as 3 through 5. Large numbers will move your data off the page.
To move the data Down, enter a positive number or a number greater than the number already in the box.
To move the data Up, enter a negative number or a number smaller than the number already in the box.
If the misalignment appears to be random, there is likely an issue with the Printer Settings.
Example 1: The print result is too small to fit the form and the print is not close to being in the correct fields: Check to make sure that Fit to Page is not selected.
Example 2: The top is aligned but the bottom is not.
Make sure Scale is 100% if it is an option.
If there is a PDF option, choose it.
If there is a pattern in the alignment issue, adjust the System Settings for the shared office printer or Personal Settings for your own printer.
For Example, everything is too high or low by the same distance or too far right or left by the same distance.
You may need to experiment with this to get the alignment correct.
