Enter an NDC Number to an Existing Encounter

Note: You must enter the NDC to the Procedure Code Library before the NDC number dialogue box is available on the Encounter. 

Add NDC Numbers to the Procedure Code Library

Select this link for Add NDC Numbers (National Drug Code) to the Procedure Code Library to populate on future charges.
Adding the NDC number in the Procedure Code Library will not populate the NDC number on existing Encounters unless the Procedure Line is deleted and re-added, or the NDC number is added manually.

Manually Add an NDC Number To An Existing Encounter

  1. On the Encounter Dashboard, select the Modify button.
  2. Select the line item.
  3. Select the Procedure Info button.
  • The button will only be available if:
  • There are no Transactions (Adjustments or Payments) posted on the Encounter.
  • The NDC number has already been added to the CPT® Code in the Procedure Code Library.
  1. Add the NDC number with the dashes.
  2. Select the Unit of Measure.
  3. Add the Quantity (Units).
  4. Select Save [F2].
  5. On the Modify Charge Line screen. select Save [F2].
  6. Select Save [F2].



Expand the Charge section on the Encounter Dashboard

To see the NDC # on the Encounter Dashboard, expand the Charge/Transaction Section.
