Delete a CPT® from an Encounter

Delete a CPT® from an Encounter

There are 2 ways to delete a line item from a Claim:

  • Select the Trash can on the line item, and select Yes. Click Save on the Modify Charge screen.
  • Select the Line item number, select the Delete Line checkbox, and Save [F2].
  • Select Save [F2] on the Modify Charge screen.

This can only be done if the Reference Batch is in an open period and there are no transactions posted to the line.  If the Encounter is in a closed period or there are Transactions posted to the line, the Encounter must be Reversed for Modification to make any changes. The Trash Can icon will be grayed out if the line cannot be deleted.
