Add a CPT® to a Case

Add a CPT® to a Case

A limitation can be set on the Authorization for specific CPT codes.

Add a CPT® to a New Case

  • On the Case, select Add Authorization.
  • In the CPT field, enter the CPTs that need to be on the encounter separated by commas and no spaces. Example: 99214,99215,99216
  • Select Save (F2).

Add a CPT on an already created Case

On the Modify Charge screen:
  • If an Authorization has not been created, click the Authorization dropdown and choose Add New. Add the CPT(s).

  • If there is an Authorization, select the Edit link and add the CPT(s).

Validation Error

Error - At least one Authorized CPT must be on the charge.

This error indicates there is a CPT limitation on the Authorization. This is a hard stop if none of the CPTs are on the Encounter.
