A limitation can be set on the Authorization for specific CPT codes.
Add a CPT® to a New Case

On the Case, select Add Authorization.

In the CPT
field, enter the CPTs that need to be on the encounter separated by commas and no spaces. Example: 99214,99215,99216

Select Save (F2).
Add a CPT on an already created Case
On the Modify Charge
screen:

If an Authorization has not been created, click the Authorization dropdown and choose Add New. Add the CPT(s).

If there is an Authorization, select the Edit
link and add the CPT(s).
Validation Error
Error - At least one Authorized CPT must be on the charge.
This error indicates there is a CPT limitation on the Authorization. This is a hard stop if none of the CPTs are on the Encounter.
